We’re Re-Opening!

June 26 2020      Adam Lemalle

We’re Re-opening! Llechwedd’s award winning truck tours will re-open from Monday 6th July!

From Monday 6th July, Llechwedd’s Quarry Explorer truck tours will re-open to the public taking all appropriate social distancing measures. New signage will be in place across the site, accompanied by distancing markers and hand sanitizer stations. On Monday 6th July, the day before Llechwedd opens to the public, local people will be invited to see the measures put in place to ensure their team and community are kept safe.

The Llechwedd Deep Mine and Slate Mountain Adventure will remain closed until further notice.

Michael Bewick, Manager Director of Llechwedd said: “we have been in close touch with our team over the months of lockdown and more recently have been speaking to our community. We are keen to ensure that this important part of Wales’ cultural heritage is once again open and are making every effort to ensure that it is a safe experience for our team, our visitors and our community.”

Tours will be temporarily limited to eight people, ensuring adequate distancing between social groups.

Separated sitting spaces, partitioned by Perspex, will be available on the military trucks and there will be an increase in the amount of open air stops to further maintain distancing measures. Each truck will include hand sanitization equipment.

Visitors are strongly urged to book online in advance of visiting. Due to the restrictions in place we cannot guarantee space on any tour if you arrive on the day.
