CHRISTMAS AT LLECHWEDD IS HERE TO RESCUE YOUR 2020!
After a year like 2020, it’s time to make this Christmas truly special, and what better way to do that than by heading over to Llechwedd and visiting their brand-new underground Santa’s Grotto?
After some years away, the much loved and hugely popular Father Christmas experience is returning to Llechwedd to spread some Christmas cheer after what has been a turbulent year.
Operating Saturday & Sunday from December 5th (and all week prior to the big day itself), Christmas at Llechwedd promises to be an experience like no other.
Previously operating via the Miner’s Tramway – which later became Zip World’s Bounce Below and Caverns, this year’s Santa’s Grotto will instead take place further underground, in the famous Llechwedd Deep Mine.
Costing £50 per carriage, your ticket will grant you and up to five others in your social bubble a space on the Christmas train – the steepest of its kind in Europe – 500 feet into the Deep Mine, where you will begin your journey through an enchanted underground experience to Santa’s Grotto, guided by one of his very special elves.
After you’ve made your way through the subterranean wonderland, each child in your group will get to spend some time with Santa, before receiving a quality gift.
A host of Christmas related activities are also planned, including festive food and drinks and Christmas choirs.
Christmas at Llechwedd will comply with all COVID and social distancing measures that may be in place at the time of your visit, ensuring peace of mind throughout and an enjoyable time for all.
The Santa’s Grotto will run half hourly from Saturday 5th December up to and including Christmas Eve. Please note that due to demand, spaces are limited.
Llechwedd will be closed for the month of November in the lead up to Christmas at Llechwedd, and will again shut after Christmas until February 2021.
